Scope of work

Scope of work: Design, supply and installation of marble and granite flooring for entrance lobby of a luxury apartment block, including all substrate preparation, installation of the reception desk, entrance staircase and entrance mats.

Stone/Materials: Bardiglio Claro marble, Zimbabwe black granite, bronze inlay strips and Intra Flex entrance matting.

Barratt London awarded the contract for this challenging project to Stone & Ceramic because of our track record for successfully completing complex tiling projects. We developed the architect’s initials designs into detailed design drawings, then following the design team’s approval, we produced individual cutting schedules for every stone on the project.

After selecting the stone at the marble quarries in Italy, our sister company, Sussex Stone & Ceramic fabricated each element using the latest waterjet cutting technology to ensure perfect dimensional accuracy. With stone, bronze, glass and timber interfaces at different locations across the floor, meticulous attention to detail during the installation process was critical for the success of the project.

In addition to the flooring and entrance steps, Stone & Ceramic worked closely with the joinery contractor to install stone feature panels within the reception desk and fitted Intra Flex matting at both entrances.
